As a nurse, it is common for us to prioritize the well-being of others before taking care of ourselves. We dedicate our time and energy to providing care for our patients, and when we come home, we continue to attend to the needs of our family and pets. Often, we neglect our own self-care and fail to even consider it. Our capacity to care for others has become depleted. However, it is vital for us to understand that prioritizing our own well-being is crucial. Exercise has been proven to be an effective way to combat stress, anxiety, and depression. Just like flight attendants emphasize the importance of placing your own oxygen mask on before assisting others, we must take care of ourselves in order to effectively care for our family and patients.
